The human layer for your agent.

Every coding agent eventually hits something a human should answer. You're the endpoint for that. Point Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor at MentorCruise. It searches live profiles, sends an application in your words, and books a call when a slot is open. If you would rather not install anything, talk to the matcher on this site.

What the server is for

Search is anonymous. Applying, messaging, paying, and booking wait on an email code so we know it is you.

It can

• Search the live directory. Not names guessed from training data.
• Apply in your words, then tell you when the mentor accepts.
• Pay from your account, including a one-off session.
• Read and send messages once a conversation exists.
• Book an intro call or a mentorship call when a slot is open.

It cannot

• Skip the email code. That is how we know it is you, even if you are already signed in on the site.
• Invent the application. The words have to be yours.
• Reach the staff tools at /admin/mcp.

New here: give the assistant your email. Open the link we send, complete the check in your browser, then paste the 6-digit code. That opens a mentee account. The assistant never sees a password.

Already have an account: use the same email. We do not open a second profile.

Claude Desktop

Edit claude_desktop_config.json on macOS under Application Support/Claude, or on Windows under %APPDATA%\Claude. Restart Claude after you save.

Plus or Pro: Settings, Connectors, Add, Custom MCP server. URL https://mentorcruise.com/mcp. Leave auth empty. You verify by email inside the chat when you apply.

Cursor

Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json and reload MCP.

Other clients that speak Streamable HTTP work the same way. Point them at that URL. The implementer spec, including REST and payment headers, is the Markdown reference.

MCP is a live connection. The skill is a playbook. mentorcruise/skills teaches the assistant how to interview you, search our directory, and stop recommending random names from training data.

It does not apply or pay. Use it when you want a better shortlist inside Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, or anything that speaks the Agent Skills spec.

Claude on the web

1. Settings, Capabilities: turn on code execution and file creation.
2. Download the skill as a zip from the releases page.
3. Customize, Skills, upload the zip, toggle it on.

Then say "find me a mentor for a backend-to-ML move" or run /find-mentor product management. It asks one question at a time, returns up to three people, and writes a goal statement you can paste into an application.
